Bryce Canyon Road Trip for Merik’s Birthday

Mer-man turned 25! or 26? Yes, 26…I just had to ask him to clarify. Being the amazing wife that I am, I last minute planned a little Bryce Canyon getaway for his birthday. We had never been, and February is r o u g h here in Utah. This lucky guy basically had a month-long celebration for his birthday, but he deserves it! Our friends Christian and Susie joined our little excursion and they were the greatest company (who are we kidding, we invited them so we could split gas).

All jokes aside, we really had a great time. We had the park mostly to ourselves, and just got to wonder for the day! It was fairly windy above the canyon, but once we got down it was perfect! We spent the night here which was actually a pretty nice place considering the price. The biggest treat was hot-tubbing with a handful of ladies who were in town for a quilting convention + a man visiting from Korea. It’s crazy to think that people come from all over the world to visit a spot that’s less than four hours away from us. How lucky are we?!

With the birthday-boy himself giving German tourists heart attacks like it’s our job. Let’s also talk about how my leggings match the rock so perfectly…you’ll never know if I planned that or not.christian and susie in bryce canyon

Christian and Susie being MUCH more responsible + Susie trying to hide the fact that she’s wearing the same sweatshirt as Merik. YOU GUYS…$10 find! Best souvenir. bryce canyon view

Can we just talk about how pretty the red rock is? I highly recommend going to Bryce Canyon in the offseason! Not only is it less crowded, but the snow + red rock combination is so pretty!
