New York City 2015

**This post somehow came up as I was building my site. My very first blog post that was resurrected from the dead! Since this post, Merik and I have been back to New York five times. FIVE. We love the city–and the Taylor’s of course ;)**

We had the amazing opportunity to visit a few friends that were interning in NYC for the summer. For five days, we perused the streets of New York, searching for cute buildings (at least I was enjoying the buildings), finding unique places to eat, and following our plan to not plan ahead.

Eating organic burgers that cost more than the shoes I was wearing, we stuffed our faces and emptied our pockets. It’s such a magical city! We explored SOHO, walked the High-Line, laughed our hearts out at a new Broadway show, “Something Rotten”, and rented bikes in lieu of the gross subway.

Just look at these buildings! Golden Hour in New York is surreal, and we chose to spend that time walking from the Upper West Side, through Central Park, to the Upper East Side. We’d sneak into the MET just before it closed to avoid the crowds and just for a moment, we’d have thousands of years of history to us.

So dreamy. Mer and I spent the last day together, riding bikes around and trying to avoid being hit by crazy buses. We were able to get into the 9/11 Memorial (free on Tuesdays!) and it was so heavy. Sharing such a sacred moment with him was so special. I love you, New York.
